Helicopter Instructor Training - FI(H)
The Flight Instructor (Helicopters) rating allows a pilot to teach student pilots who are undertaking a PPL(H) or Type Rating course. Most instructors are professional licence holders and the FI(H) is the next logical step for a lot of pilots looking to further their careers in aviation.

The Course
Courses are usually run in the quiet part of the flying season between September and March and last approximately five weeks, they are normally run for two (possibly three) candidates at one time.
The course itself, like most of our training courses consists of ground and flight training , all of which is conducted in house. The ground portion of the course consists of 125 hours of ground school and most of the first week of training is usually spent in the classroom being taught about how people learn and learning how to teach.
The flying portion of the course is 30 hours long , 5 of which can be flown with another candidate on 'mutual' training sorties.
