NEW R44 G-OHJV

We are please to announce the arrival of our new R44 G-OHJV which has replaced G-SJDI. The aircraft is now available for training, self fly hire and charter.

Summary of Changes to JAR FCL 2 (Helicopter)

Revised requirements for type ratings for Multi pilot helicopters and Single pilot helicopters and duration of type rating courses:

General requirement for instructor ratings and authorisations, revised pre requisites for FI(H) course, restricted privileges and revalidations of FI(H) ratings.

PPL(H) - Revision of examination requirements and validity. PPL(H) exams are to be completed within a 18 month period, dated from the first attempted exam. Once all the exams are complete they will be valid for  24 month from date of the last exam.

Restricted Battersea Landing Slots

The London Heliport (Battersea) has an annual limit of 12,000 movements and due to the significant increase in the number of helicopter movements the London Heliport has had to impose a restricted landing slot system. Landing slots are now restricted to a specified number per week and therefore slots are allocated on a "first come, first serve basis"; advance booking is essential to ensure your preferred date and time are reserved.

Surrey Air Ambulance Appeal

Through 2007 we have supported the Surrey Air Ambulance, we have decided to continue our support into 2008 and keep the Surrey Air Ambulance as  our nominated charity, to contribute and  help raise the yearly running costs of approximately £1.5 million to provide Surrey with an emergency helicopter service 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
